This summer has been packed with community involvement. Our leaders and staff have been actively participating in various events and symposiums, sharing the progress we’ve made at ACIJ.
To start, our family reunification program, “Abrazando Nuestras Raíces” (Embracing Our Roots), has once again made dreams come true for Mexican community members. Last month, 18 elderly parents from Mexico reunited with their children in Alabama after decades apart. The welcoming event was filled with joy, tears, and heartfelt embraces.
While these reunions warm our hearts, they also highlight the challenges posed by current immigration policies. We believe that policies that divide families weaken our communities. You can support more reunifications by donating to our program. |
